Cards for a good mood for volunteers support grouping and wellbeing

The ‘Cards for a good mood for volunteers’ intended for Red Cross volunteers and employees offer tools for processing emotions and improving resources. The cards are designed to support group activities.

The ‘Cards for a good mood for volunteers’ include a mood sharing round, tools for identifying feelings and exercises for getting to know each other. They also include activity-based exercises that can be carried out at the start or end of group meetings.

Mood sharing round helps participants analyse their experiences

The exercises in the cards help the group members to get to know each other and create a safe, confidential atmosphere. The discussion based on the cards can be adapted to the needs of the group. A mood sharing round at the end of group activities is an important part of the activity as a whole: it helps participants to analyse their experiences, learn from them and defuse any tension.

The emotion cards are especially suited for support during the mood sharing round, and the resource cards can be used as ice-breakers during the getting to know each other phase. The card set also includes an instruction manual that contains tips on guiding and adapting the exercises for different groups.

The cards are available in Finnish, Swedish, English, Ukrainian and Russian.
