Finnish Red Cross warmly welcomes you to apply to the two-day Training of Trainers (ToT), which leads you to become a psychosocial support trainer. The training includes practicing the trainer's skills and learning more about psychosocial support and psychological first aid. After the course, you can organize the basic course of psychosocial support for other volunteers. The course will be held in English.  EU as donor will cover the costs of the training, including accommodation and travels.

Date: 14.-15.9.2024

Time: On Saturday 14.9. at 10-18, on Sunday 15.9. at 9-17. 

Training venue: Finnish Red Cross Headquarters, address Tehtaankatu 1A, 00140 Helsinki

What can you do as a psychosocial support trainer? 

The psychosocial support trainers train Red Cross and Voluntary Rescue Service volunteers, citizens and, if necessary, company staff. Trainers can support and spar with the district and branches as psychosocial support experts. 

Are you suitable for the role? 

The role of a trainer requires an interest in working with people, good interpersonal skills, the ability to learn and guide learning, motivate, and inspire.  

If you feel that psychosocial support is for everyone, have a background in social or health care, work or volunteering experience and want to share your knowledge, you are the right person to be a trainer in psychosocial support. You must also be at least 18 years old and have completed a basic course in psychosocial support, or have equivalent knowledge and skills. 

How to apply to become a trainer? 

You can apply for trainer training through your Finnish Red Cross district office. The training pathway is agreed with the training or programme manager in the district office, and the future tasks are agreed at the same time.
