Helpers in Aulanko 1–3 April 2022

The national volunteer training event is here again!

Hiking boots replace life jackets as the national volunteer event moves from the cruise liner to the scenic conference and spa hotel Scandic Aulanko in Hämeenlinna.

Whether you are a novice, an experienced key volunteer or anything in between, you are most welcome to the national volunteer event! The event provides you with an opportunity to learn new things, get motivated, discuss, relax and make new acquaintances. For the first time, you can also attend the national volunteer training event from the comfort of your home!

Registration is now open, and it will close when the event is sold out or no later than 15th of March. We will notify you on these RedNet pages if the event is sold out. Registered participants will receive more information on the event by email no later than March.

Remote participation does not require advance registration, but if you want to receive more information about the remote event programme and the participation links by email, click on the link above to register for the event. Information and links will also be updated here on the event’s RedNet page no later than March.

You can find more information about the registration process here.

The event programme is built around three core themes. These themes are:

  • preparedness for the ever-changing world
  • reforming and diverse Red Cross
  • volunteers’ well-being.

Contrary to the previous national volunteer training events, the participants are not expected to select only one theme to focus on throughout the event. Instead, you can join any workshops you find interesting.

In addition to participating in workshops, you have the opportunity to attend interesting expert lectures.

One of the key speakers at the event’s closing ceremony on Sunday is well-known speaker Jani Toivola who will tell us about embracing and utilising diversity in our work.

We are improving the responsibility and sustainability of the activities of the Finnish Red Cross and setting an encouraging example to other volunteer events, both big and small. We have considered the impact of our activities on society, the environment and the event participants in the planning and execution of the event. We are striving to organise an event that is as environmentally-friendly as possible. We have also paid special attention to accessibility and safety at the event as well as the well-being and equal treatment of those attending it.

The event’s health security

We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and following the restrictions and recommendations issued by the authorities. We will notify you about any effects the situation might have on the event here on the event’s RedNet page as well as by email to the event participants.

Thank you dinner

You are important to us and we want to thank you for your hard work! We will treat all event participants to a delicious thank you dinner at the Scandic Aulanko restaurant on Saturday 2 April 2022.

The dinner is a continuation to the triennial thank you galas celebrating our volunteers. We are inviting you to spend a lovely evening and dine with old and new volunteer friends and later on party at the hotel night club. This is one of the highlights of the weekend!

You can learn more about the event through the links on the side bar on the left. The event is also listed on Oma Punainen Risti.

We are happy to have you with us! See you in Aulanko!

We reserve the right to make changes to the event details, programme and schedule.

The address of conference and spa hotel Scandic Aulanko is Aulangontie 93, 13220 Hämeenlinna.
